YouTube redesign hints at feature length video productions Redesign aims to introduce a more neutral interface.
Google is rolling out a new design for YouTube, which could increase its impact as a marketing tool by making it more user friendly.
The changes will make it more appropriate for a wider range of content, hinting at plans to introduce a greater array of videos such as films and TV programmes, Wired has reported.
YouTube said it was changing the "voice" of the design to make the website more simple and neutral in terms of style.
Margaret Stewart, head of design and user experience for YouTube, told the news provider: "We want the voice that people hear in the design to be the voice of the creator of the video, and not voice of the user interface itself.
"The palate is more subdued
the container needs to feel like a welcoming home for everything from user-generated content to feature-length films."
YouTube recently added live sports to its range of content after agreeing a deal to show cricket from the Indian Premier League on the video streaming site.
