YouTube launches redesigned video page New design aims to present simpler and less cluttered video page to users.
Video productions on YouTube could become an even more effective marketing tool following a redesign of the website aimed at increasing usability.
The Google-owned site has launched a new video page the page users see when a video is playing that has been overhauled to be simpler and easier to use.
Focussing on presenting a cleaner, less cluttered page, YouTube has grouped all the information about a video in one place and will allow users to select further detail on a video if they need it.
It has dedicated the right-hand side of the page to suggestions as to which video to watch next and claims to be smarter in the way it decides on these suggestions.
"This redesign is about going 'back to basics,' focusing attention on the reason why you came to YouTube in the first place - the video - and all the ways you engage with content and creators," YouTube said on its official blog.
The site celebrated its fifth birthday earlier this year, having been launched in February 2005.
