YouTube ideal for reaching younger demographic, says expert Thanks to range of ways to advertise, YouTube is a great option for marketers, claims expert.
Companies looking to market to a younger demographics should consider using YouTube video productions, it has been claimed.
According to Michael Learmonth, editor of marketing magazine Advertising Age, the range of advertising options available on YouTube make it an ideal marketing tool.
He wrote that it has become "an option for anyone trying to reach the younger demographic".
"That's been helped along by Google, which has rolled out literally dozens of ways for large and small advertisers to use YouTube, from big homepage ads to pre-rolls and overlays, paid placements and search ads over the past 18 months," he added.
Mr Learmonth claimed that marketing video productions were becoming increasingly popular among YouTube users.
He said that YouTube ad partners currently account for 44.7 per cent of views among the top 100 videos compared to 36.3 per cent six months ago.
YouTube could be an even more promising place to market a product, with the news earlier this month that UK consumers are becoming more receptive to advertising, according to DataTalk's British Marketing Survey.
