YouTube dedicates channel to travel video productions Partnership with cruise company will see new YouTube channel launched.
A new channel has been launched on YouTube dedicated to showing video productions relating to travel.
Called YouTube Vacationer, the channel is the result of a partnership between the video sharing site and cruise holiday provider Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL).
It includes ideas and advice from travel experts, such as Lonely Planet, National Geographic and Travel Channel.
In addition, it features an interactive component called Vacation You.
Here visitors to the channel can select from a series of short video clips to produce a customised 60-90 second montage of their ideal cruising holiday based on NCL's Freestyle Cruising product.
"By working with YouTube on their first-ever travel-specific channel, we are giving visitors the opportunity to experience our brand and all the options that Freestyle Cruising offers," said Maria Miller, NCL's senior vice president of marketing.
"From a marketing perspective, this opportunity is compelling because it provides a truly organic user experience and represents another great way for brands to work with YouTube."
It was recently announced that Google, which owns YouTube, is to launch a new product called Google TV, which aims to bring online video and search to TV sets.
