Yellow Pages launches video production competition Video makers asked to submit entries to YouTube and Facebook.
Yell, publisher of the Yellow Pages, is launching a video production-based competition in order to promote the telephone directory.
The company is asking amateur video makers to submit clips showing the "amazing things" that can be done by using the Yellow Pages.
A £5,000 cash prize is up for grabs for the maker of the best video, with participants asked to submit their entries to the company's Facebook page and YouTube channel.
The marketing campaign is being launched to mark the introduction of a new smaller-sized directory designed to be able to fit through most letterboxes.
Phil Johnson, head of printed product management at Yell, said: "We wanted to mark the launch of the new handy sized Yellow Pages in an exciting way and this competition is already proving popular."
Yell has already created two video productions of its own, one showing the new-look directory being flung through a letter box from the road outside, and another in which breakdancers incorporate a copy of the Yellow Pages into their routines.
The first UK Yellow Pages directory was launched in 1966.
