Women turning to web for brand interaction A new survey shows a third of women say the web is the best way of interacting with their favourite brands.
New research reveals that there may be a growing female audience for online marketing video productions.
A study by Yahoo! has found that women are increasingly turning to the internet to interact with brands.
The internet services company interviewed 3,000 women of which over a third said the web is the best way of interacting with their favourite brands, while 54 per cent said it was their main way of interacting with the world.
Furthermore, the research shows that 65 per cent of females use the internet for social networking and 61 per cent shop online, Marketing Week reports.
Hazel Checkley, head of Yahoo! Lifestyle, a new site being launched by the company specifically targeted at women, told the news provider: "Young women today are switched on and connected and going online to maintain their social lives, shop online and for advice on the many topics that are relevant to the various roles they play through out their day, be that a mother, wife, daughter or boss."
It was recently announced that Yahoo! has entered a partnership with Microsoft that sees the latter's Bing search engine provide search services for Yahoo! sites.
