Web videos becoming more popular Video is becoming a more prevalent on the internet thanks to the money they can bring in
People are now expecting video to be on websites when they visit them. That is according to the general manager of CNN.com, K C Estenson, who told the New York Times that the public are using the internet "in a different way". "With broadband penetration becoming ubiquitous and more and more sites having this easy capability, people are expecting video to be there," he said. His comments come as Brian Stelter at New York Times suggested more news sites are starting to resemble television instead of newspapers. The reason behind it is that a lot of money can be made from advertisements attached to videos. "The web is fulfilling this promise of being a medium where you can enjoy video as much as you can see it on TV," Charles W Tillinghast, president of MSNBC.com said. Many news providers now use video content on their websites, including the BBC and ITV.
