VisitEngland launches online video production competition Public asked to upload online videos for new campaign.
Tourism body VisitEngland has launched a new marketing campaign centred around online video productions.
It is encouraging people to upload an one-minute memorable experience of England onto the organisation's website, Marketing Week reports.
"This can be anything from playing in the park, sharing Pimms with friends on a lovely terrace to a walk through the countryside or bungee jumping off the Transporter Bridge," explains the site.
Members of the public can then rate each video with the creator of the most-liked effort receiving the prize of a 10,000 minute (one week) holiday in England.
It forms part of the longer-term Enjoy Every Minute: Enjoy England campaign, which VisitEngland has launched in order to encourage people to take a 'staycation' in the country rather than travel abroad.
According to a recent study by Deloitte, tourists coming to the UK from overseas contributed £115.4 billion to the UK economy in 2009, while in 2008, 52 million UK residents took holidays in the country.
