Virgin to launch online TV series

A new music-based entertainment show is to be released by Virgin in the form of online video productions.

The media company is to launch The Red Room, to be hosted on Virgin.com, this October, reports New Media Age.

It will consist of several four to six-minute long episodes hosted by presenters Huw Stephens, Laura Jackson, Jon Hilcock and DP Fitzgerald.

Nissan will sponsor the episodes to promote its new Crossover Juke model.

Bob Fear, Virgin.com content producer, said that the series will encourage interaction with its followers.

"The Red Room will be driven by its community," he told the news provider, "whether our followers tweet the questions to the artists or even submit their own video reports.

"Every month aspiring animators will design our idents and up-and-coming bands can offer their tracks."

Earlier this month, Marks & Spencer launched a fashion-based online TV series featuring Myleene Klass as a presenter, in which viewers can click on items seen on screen in order to purchase them from th M&S online store.
