Viral video production chart launched New Media Age to provide weekly ranking of top ten commercial viral videos.
A new chart that may be useful to video production users has been launched by digital marketing magazine New Media Age.
The NMA Viral Chart provides a weekly ranking of the top ten viral videos based on the number of unique views and how often it is shared via social networking sites Facebook and Twitter.
Only commercial videos that have been paid for by brands have been included, with another chart featuring user-generated content planned for the future.
New Media Age editor Justin Pearse said: "This will measure the true viral success of ads. Ranking based purely on views is obviously affected by media buys whereas social media sharing is a powerful way to measure virality."
Currently at the top of the chart is the trailer for the next instalment of the Twilight movie franchise.
That is followed by BMW's Dinner for RR viral which features its S1000 RR motorcycle ripping out a table cloth from under a large and elaborate dining set without breaking anything.
