Video productions to fuel growth in online media, says AOP Survey reveals media owners confident of industry growth in 2010.
The Association of Online Publishers (AOP) is predicting "significant growth" in video productions in 2010.
According to its annual Organisation Census, media owners are expecting to see an increase in revenue this year, with 50 per cent predicting growth of ten per cent or more.
This will be fuelled largely by a rise in display advertising, with video in particular expected to be an area of increased opportunity.
Tim Faircliff, general manager of consumer media at Thomson Reuters and chairman of AOP, said the results of the survey were consistent with his outlook for Thompson Reuters and the industry as a whole.
"A return to growth will provide all our businesses with a renewed energy and focus on people skills, revenue generation and business models plus the opportunity for exciting innovation around mobile and video.
"The challenge will be how fast we can gear up to drive these initiatives forward."
A recent study by research firm Econsultancy and email service provider Adestra found that 28 per cent of email marketers are now also using video.
