Twitter redesign will 'strike a chord' with advertisers Website to offer more prominence to video and other media following redesign.
The recently announced redesign of the micro-blogging site Twitter could be valuable to marketers, it has been claimed.
This could especially be the case for those that use video productions, as they will be given new prominence under the changes.
Part of the new design will see the display window of the site split into two panes.
One will feature the ordinary Tweets, while the other will show embedded media from those Tweets, such as videos and photos.
Previously, such media would have to be accessed via an external link.
"The multi-media opportunities that the new Twitter functions offer will certainly strike a chord with some advertisers. For example film brands will be able to show video trailers to users," commented Nicola Clark, head of features at Marketing Magazine
"After years on focusing on user growth - very successfully - it will be interesting to see how Twitter maintains a balance between satisfying its users and offering marketers increased levels of engagement."
According to a recent report from Panda Security, a US cloud security company, 77 per cent of employees at small to medium-sized businesses access social networking sites at work.
