Twitter great for engaging consumers with video productions, says expert An expert has claimed that Twitter is one of the best sites for engaging consumers through video.
Micro-blogging site Twitter is becoming an increasingly important tool for marketers using video productions, it has been claimed.
According to David Burch, director of communications and marketing at analyst Tubemogul, Twitter is fast becoming a popular place for marketers to post videos.
This is because viewers are more likely to better-engage with content on Twitter than most other platforms.
Research by Tubemogul shows that Twitter is second only to Facebook out of the major video providers when it comes to the average amount of time viewers spend watching a video once they have pressed play.
In an interview with reelseo.com, Mr Burch said: "Twitter is one of the fastest growing ways that video is being discovered online. In terms of engagement, it leads search engines and a whole bunch of other potential sources of video, second only to Facebook.
"So Twitter is a really great source for finding the viewers that care; i.e., the viewers that will actually want to share and engage with your video."
It was recently announced that Twitter is to undergo a redesign which will see videos embedded on the same page as tweets themselves.
