Tesco uses educational video productions for new recipes website Website uses cooking demonstration videos.
Supermarket giant Tesco has launched a new website that uses educational video productions to teach consumers how to cook.
The Tesco Real Food site provides customers with a place to search for recipes, rate and review them and click through to buy products.
It also includes editorial content such as cooking advice, news and blogs.
The video section of the Real Food site features demonstrations of cooking techniques such as making an omelette and cooking the perfect steak, as well as feature items from celebrity chefs such as Jean-Christophe Novelli.
Angela Maurer, senior marketing manager at Tesco.com told New Media Age that it planned to integrate the new channel into the grocery section of its main site.
"Our main aim is to provide a central food site with recipes all in one place. We used BBC Good Food as our benchmark," she said.
It follows UKTV's recent move to enlist Jamie Oliver to create a series of cooking video productions for its Good Food website.
