Skin care company launches online TV series

Jergens Naturals, a maker of skin care products, has highlighted the potential of internet video productions with the launch of an online TV show.

Instead of turning to more traditional channels, Jergens Naturals has chosen to broadcast the series, called Skin & Bare It exclusively on the internet via its own website and a variety of third party content hosts.

The programme features Channel 4 presenter Anna Richardson and involves two members of the public swapping their beauty regimes for a period of three weeks.

It follows the brands sponsorship of similar shows such as Supersize Vs Superskinny and Embarrassing Bodies, both on Channel 4.

"Skin & Bare It reveals the nation's bathroom secrets; what we use, where we use it and gives you some top tips and handy hints to improve your body care regime," Jergens Naturals' website explains.

According to research firm Mintel, one in ten respondents to a recent survey report using online retailers to purchase cosmetics and skin care products.
