Quit smoking viral video campaign launched Anti-smoking charity uses viral video to urge smokers to quit.
A viral video production has been launched by Quit, the charity that aims to help people give up smoking.
The charity will release three 15-second videos that use humour to encourage people to quit smoking and get in touch with the charity.
Called Loony Lungs, the animated videos depict two cartoon lungs willingly putting themselves into increasingly dangerous situations.
Steve Crone, chief executive of Quit, says: "This campaign has a serious message. One person in seven is affected by lung disease in the UK. Early prevention and diagnosis can really save lives."
Quit will back-up the internet campaign with an experiential offline marketing programme which will see the Loony Lungs appear in pubs and cafes around the country and near London Underground stations.
A recent study by scientists in Sydney, Australia, found that contrary to popular belief, it is easier to quit smoking by going 'cold turkey' than to use nicotine patches or other aids, with almost three-quarters giving up this way.
