Politicians in Wales urged to make use of video productions Politicians need to "fully recognise" importance of online.
Welsh Assembly members have been urged to make the most of video productions and other internet tools to better engage with voters.
Presiding Officer Dafydd Elis-Thomas has said that the country's politicians must embrace technology in order to attract new voters in the upcoming referendum on full powers for the Assembly and next year's election.
Speaking to the Western Mail, he said that 2,000 people currently follow his party on Twitter and it has over 600 fans on Facebook.
It also produces photographs for Flickr and videos for YouTube.
"However, although in many ways the Assembly is ahead of its peers in its use of technology, we must fully recognise the importance of these mediums if we are to continue to progress effectively and become a modern, all-encompassing organisation," he told the news provider.
A referendum on extending the law-making powers of the Welsh Assembly is required to be held before May 5th 2011.
