Online video productions 'going in an upward curve' Better targeting capabilities attracting advertisers to online video, it has been claimed.
Advertisers are increasingly turning to online video productions as part of their campaigns, it has been claimed.
According to Jamie Estrin, managing director of Web TV Enterprise, the UK's largest premium online video advertising network, the medium is seeing continual growth while other advertising methods are affected by seasonal dips.
"In online video we are seeing continued growth and each quarter the line is going in an upward curve," he said.
Mr Estrin claims the popularity of video productions among online advertisers is due to the fact they can be better targeted towards certain demographics than other advertising mediums such as TV.
"Web video allows people to be presenting brands that the right audience are happy to be engaging with," he commented.
His remarks follow recent figures from research firm eMarketer, which revealed that, unlike other major media, online advertising spending increased in 2009, growing to $55.2 billion (£36.2 billion).
This is expected to reach $61.8 billion (£40.5 billion) worldwide by the end of the year.
