Online video production advertising predicted to overtake TV Advertising sales firm says low cost and accurate targeting of online video ads mean they are becoming increasingly popular with brands.
The rising popularity of internet video productions will see online advertising overtake TV by 2012, it has been claimed.
Digital sales agency Ad2One Group Ireland predicts that online video advertising will see 78 per cent growth in the next two years, meaning brands will distribute more videos online as part of their marketing campaigns than they will on television.
This, the group claims, is because online video productions offer a range of benefits compared to their TV counterparts.
"Online video marketing is attractive because it's much cheaper and accurately targets key audiences without any wastage. It offers far superior targeting and offers tangible results, delivered through analytic tracking," said Roddy Walshe of Ad2One.
The latest IMRG Capgemini e-retail Sales Index would seem to support Mr Walshe's comments, indicating the growing influence of online in the commercial sphere.
Indeed, announced earlier this week, the index revealed that online sales rose 22 per cent in May, the fastest increase in over two years.
