Online marketing to see strong growth in 2010, expert says Accountability and measurability will allow online marketing to become increasingly important as the economy recovers, it has been claimed.
A leading marketing expert has predicted online advertising, such as video marketing, will expand in 2010 and into the coming decade.
Eva Berg-Winters, digital media expert at professional services firm PricewaterhouseCoopers, said new marketing channels are emerging to complement those already being widely used.
"Across the media industry, digitisation has transformed business models structurally and this will continue through 2010 and beyond. Online advertising is one of the parts that we will see return to strong growth," she said.
She also suggested that mobile phones could have a big part to play in the future of marketing and that innovations such as the iPhone had instigated this change.
However, she claimed that as the UK comes out of recession online media would become increasingly important because of its measurability and accountability.
According to a recent study by ZenithOptiMedia, after experiencing a decline during the recession, the world's ad market has now stabilised and will grow by 0.9 per cent in 2010.
