Online lead generation boosting sales New report finds more companies investing in online lead generation.
Companies are increasingly using video productions and other online marketing techniques to help boost sales, it has been revealed.
According to Econsultancy's Online Lead Generation (OLG) Report 2010, the proportion of companies who are generating leads online with the intention of converting them offline has increased from 70 per cent in 2009 to 81 per cent this year.
Furthermore, on average, online lead generation is responsible for 42 per cent of total sales, up from 40 per cent last year.
Video productions are becoming increasingly popular as methods of delivering OLG, the report revealed.
It found that 21 per cent of companies use videos to generate leads, a 14 per cent increase on last year.
As a result of the rising importance placed on OLG, companies are spending more of their budgets on the practice.
The number of companies who say that OLG budgets have gone up in the last year increased from 59 per cent last year to 65 per cent this year, said Econsultancy.
According to the latest Global Media Intelligence report from eMarketer and Starcom MediaVest Group, global spend on digital advertising will rise by 12 per cent this year.
