Old Spice scores viral video hit YouTube video productions for Old Spice ranked number one and two in Guardian viral video chart.
The ability of viral video productions to improve brand awareness has been highlighted by a series of YouTube videos for men's fragrance company Old Spice.
After first appearing in the US in a Super Bowl half-time advert, Old Spice Man, a character created by the company, is now one of the most popular viral videos on the internet.
This week, the Guardian listed the video productions featuring the character as both the first and second most popular virals in its weekly Viral Video Chart, which is based on the number of time videos are embedded or linked to on a blog.
Zach Gottlieb, commenting on the video for an article in technology magazine Wired, wrote: "The campaign works so well because it is super-direct, nearly instantaneous viral marketing that costs next to nothing."
The videos feature Isaiah Mustafa as an over confident, over-the-top character who responds to viewers comments and questions posted on social media sites such as YouTube, Facebook and Twitter.
