New viral video production warns against soft-drink calories Video released on YouTube shows a man drinking a glass of fat.
A video has been released on YouTube designed to warn consumers of the health risks of drinking too many soft-drinks.
The viral video is part of a campaign by the New York City Health Department and highlights the effective use of good video production. In the video, a man opens a can of soft-drink and pours it into a glass but as he pours the drink turns out to be a yellow gloop, realistically made to look like fat. The man then drinks the liquid and ends up with the greasy mess all over his face. Viewers are then told that just one can of fizzy drink a day could add ten pounds of weight over a year. Dr. Thomas Farley, New York City health commissioner said: "This video is playful, but its message is serious. Sugar-sweetened beverages are fuelling the obesity epidemic, and obesity is disabling millions of New Yorkers."
The NHS recently launched its own viral video campaign aimed at warning young people about the dangers of binge drinking.
Two videos were released showing the possible consequences of drinking too much, along with a dedicated website - cocktalesmix.co.uk
