New stats point to benefits of YouTube marketing YouTube now gets two billion hits a day, newly-released figures reveal.
The benefits of posting corporate video productions on YouTube have once again been highlighted by new figures showing the website gets more than two billion hits a day.
According to the latest figures released by the Google-owned video-sharing site, the new milestone has been reached less than a year since the one billion visits a day mark was achieved.
Other statistics released by YouTube include the fact that 24 hours of new video, including corporate video productions, are uploaded onto the site every minute, while 70 per cent of all traffic now comes from outside the United States.
Notably, the figures also show that 94 of the top 100 marketing companies as listed by Advertising Age have made use of YouTube, with the number of advertisers posting display ads on the site having increased ten-fold over the past year alone.
Furthermore, the potential of the site is still nowhere near being realised, with YouTube co-founder Chad Hurley telling the BBC: "Two billion video streams is a large number but on average people are only spending 15 minutes a day on the site compared to five hours a day watching TV."
Just recently, YouTube announced that it is to allow users to start sharing "private" videos among an unlimited number of people.
