NHS launches anti-smoking campaign with online video Smokefree campaign incorporates online video and social media.
Anew anti-smoking digital media campaign featuring an online video production was launched today (December 18th) by the NHS.
The campaign combines an advice website with social media to construct a multi-faceted digital campaign.
As part of the project, called Smokefree, the developments of a blogger attempting to give up smoking will be followed, with progress updates occuring twice a week via MSN.
Furthermore, the content will be made available via Windows Mobile and the NHS will use search engine Bing to target users who have either not completed the Smokefree forms or read the blogs but not taken any further action.
The campaign will be backed by a website which features an anti-smoking video and provides practical support for smokers trying to give up.
It is the second time in recent weeks that the NHS has used internet video as part of a health campaign. Earlier this month, the organisation launched a series of viral videos aimed at stopping young people from binge drinking.
