Intel launches 'Cannonbell' viral Video shows Intel employees being fired from a cannon into wind chimes.
Computer processor manufacturer Intel has released a new online viral video to help promote the brand.
Called Cannonbell, the video shows Intel employees in crash helmets being fired from a cannon into giant wind chimes. The notes struck by the human cannonballs play out the Intel signature jingle.
Gail Hall, UK and Ireland marketing director for Intel, told MarketingWeek that the company believed viral video marketing was a key tool in promoting the Intel brand.
"Through techniques such as viral videos, we believe we are able to connect with consumers in different one-to-one ways that help broaden perceptions of the brand, ultimately engendering greater recognition," she said.
The video forms part of Intel's ongoing Sponsors of Tomorrow campaign. Launched in May, the multi-faceted marketing project aims to improve perceptions of the brand by highlighting the benefits to society of Intel research and products.
"For over 40 years Intel has been delivering tomorrow's normal, and our new marketing campaign is a way for the world to be made aware of this fact," said Ms Hall earlier this year.
