Homebase uses educational video productions on new website Get into Gardening website features 30 videos on gardening techniques and issues.
An online gardening community website has been launched by retailer Homebase which features a series of educational video productions.
The Get into Gardening site includes 30 instructional videos on gardening techniques and hopes to have around 110 clips to view by February 2011, Marketing Magazine reports.
Richard Bruce, head of multi-channel and loyalty at Homebase, told the news provider: "We wanted to create an interactive platform to provide inspiration for everyone, with 'how to' guides and useful tips from the experience of others, plus our own experts.
"Results from a survey we conducted among more than 200,000 people revealed that over 30 per cent of respondents would choose the garden as the first part of the home to improve."
The website also contains articles and competitions and allows users to purchase Homebase products online.
Last week, Virgin Media announced it too was creating an online community featuring video productions to promote a new campaign aimed at supporting young entrepreneurs.
