High-quality video productions offer opportunities to advertisers An increase in high-quality video content on the internet is providing advertisers with a new platform, it has been claimed.
A trend towards high-quality video productions on the internet could be a positive development for both video advertisers and consumers, it has been argued.
According to Yahoo! head of commercial development Guy Beresiner, the increasing prevalence of video content such as TV shows and films on the internet is providing a new online platform for advertisers.
In an article for Marketing Week, he writes: "Quality video content provides advertisers with an online platform, through pre-roll for example, where they can use creative executions either directly from their TV campaigns - or an extension of this."
Furthermore, they can take advantage of the same levels of "targeting and analysis of investment" as they would get with TV, says Mr Beresiner.
He also predicts that "video snacks" – short video clips – will become increasingly popular, especially with the rise of internet-connected mobile phones.
A recent Ofcom report found that a total of 13.5 million people in the UK now use mobiles to surf the internet.
