Guardian website strengthens position as leading newspaper website Website, which features online video content, attracted 35.8 million visitors in November.
Guardian.co.uk has increased the number of visitors it attracts to strengthen its position as the most popular UK newspaper website.
The website, which provides a range of media including an increasing amount of video, attracted 35.8 million visitors in November, the ABCE data revealed.
That figure represents a rise of 13 per cent and is the highest monthly number for any UK newspaper.
Guardian.co.uk was also the top hit site for overseas traffic, with 22.9m unique visitors.
Mail Online increased its visitors by 2.66 per cent to 31.3 million. Telegraph.co.uk was third, with 30.8m visitors, also up 2.66 per cent on October.
The Times website saw a marginal rise in the number of people it attracted, while the Sun saw a 3.1 per cent fall. Both are owned by Rupert Murdoch's News International.
Earlier this year Mr Murdoch announced he would start charging for access to his news websites pay wall for Times Online content being introduced from early next year.
