Google tablet to boost video production? A rival to Apple's iPad tablet computer could be in development by Google.
A new video suggests that Google is working on a tablet PC to rival Apple's recently unveiled iPad.
If true, it could provide a boost to companies that use online video productions as media viewing is one of the major selling points of such devices.
The video, which was posted on the Google Chromium website by Glen Murphy, one of Google's Chrome OS designers, shows a demonstration of a tablet PC mock-up.
Apple's iPad was unveiled last week and was one of the most eagerly-anticipated product reveals in years.
However, it has faced criticism for not being compatible with Adobe Flash, the most commonly used media player format for online video.
But Apple's chief executive Steve Jobs does not expect this to be a problem, he said recently: "Apple does not support Flash because it is so buggy. Whenever a Mac crashes more often than not it is because of Flash. No one will be using Flash. The world is moving to HTML5."
