Facebook founder predicts increasing role of social media in marketing Mark Zuckerberg says advertising will "revolve around people and being social" in the near future.
Using social media sites such as Facebook and YouTube may be one way to bring video productions to a wide audience.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg has predicted that social media will play an ever increasing role in online advertising over the next few years, Marketing Week reports.
Speaking at the Cannes Lions advertising festival, Zuckerberg said: "everything will revolve around people and being social and facilitating is key."
Adding: "everything touched by technology will go through a shift to be people-driven."
Zuckerburg also reassured marketers that Facebook, a site that has become increasingly popular as a place to view video productions, is working on expanding its user base.
He said the website is "working on" gaining users in countries such Japan, Russia, China and Korea where it is not currently the market leader.
The week-long Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival is a global festival for those working in advertising and related fields and features the showcasing of thousands of ads each year.
