Email marketers turning to video productions Study finds 28 per cent of email marketers now incorporate video.
Companies that use email marketing are combining the technique with other media, such as video productions, a new report has found.
According to research published by Econsultancy and email service provider Adestra, 28 per cent of companies are using video content in their emails as a way to build customer engagement.
It also found that social media is having a big impact on the industry, with 37 per cent using email to encourage the sharing of content on social networks such as YouTube and Facebook.
Henry Hyder-Smith, managing director at Adestra, said: "We are delighted to see that email is far from dying in the midst of the social media revolution.
"And instead of cannibalisation, we are witnessing a solid partnership evolving between the two; email and social media working in harmony to fuel one another."
It was recently reported that spend on online marketing in the US is set to outstrip that of print for the first time this year, according to figures from research firm Outsell.
