Craigslist to post user-generated video productions Users of classifieds website to appear in videos detailing the story behind their ads.
Classified ad site Craigslist has begun using video productions to document its users.
The marketing campaign will take the form of a weekly web series with videos posted on both Craigslist and YouTube.
Initially it will see fourteen episodes, each featuring a Craigslist user from LA who will reveal the story behind an ad they posted on the site.
For example, one episode is based around a fashion designer attempting to design a red carpet dress for Sandra Bullock while another chronicles an attempt to track an alluring stranger spotted on the subway.
"Craigslist users are forever finding creative ways to turn free classified ads into fame, fortune, and fun," the company's chief executive Jim Buckmaster told the BBC.
"Especially in cities like LA, where Craigslist is like electricity - anything you need you just plug it in. We wanted to share a little of that magic on the small screen
Craigslist was started by Craig Newmark in San Francisco in 1995 and now operates in 50 countries.
