Convenience attracting consumers to online shopping, says expert Ability to browse and compare products easily is one of the main draws of online shopping, it has been claimed.
Internet video productions can be one way of helping consumers to view products with greater convenience, something it is claimed is attracting shoppers online.
Hannah Kimuyu, director of paid search at search engine optimisation specialist Greenlight, said that the ability to browse products more easily and quickly is one reason why people are spending more money online.
"Walking up and down a high street, although it is something that people have traditionally done, it's not the most convenient thing to do, it's a lot easier to shop online to compare products," Ms Kimuyu said.
She added that, although people still like to shop at bricks and mortar retailers, they are equally as comfortable shopping online.
Her comments follow the latest IMRG Capgemini e-Retail Sales Index which revealed an estimated £4.5 billion was spent online in March compared to £3.9 billion in 2009 a rise of 15 per cent.
The home and garden and fashion sectors in particular saw significant growth, the report noted.
