Companies 'need' online marketing Expert says well-established companies beginning to realise importance of online marketing.
Using online marketing techniques, such as corporate video productions, is becoming a necessity for modern companies, it has been claimed.
According to Di Forster, director at search engine optimisation specialists SEO Junkies, it is no longer just a new generation of younger firms that are looking to the internet as a key marketing platform.
Speaking at Internet World, the digital marketing and online business trade exhibition, Ms Forster said: "The more well-established companies are realising that they need to do something online now whether they like it or not.
"How do they bring in new blood? How do they get new, younger, fresh customers? Social media, video, interaction - they have to change with the times, they have to diversify."
Her comments follow a recent study that revealed the growing influence of online marketing.
According to an estimate published earlier this month by digital intelligence provider eMarketer, US online advertising spending will reach $25.1 billion (£16.9 billion) in 2010, representing 10.8 per cent growth over last year.
