Coke launches viral video production featuring Wayne Rooney Drinks company launches viral video to promote World Cup goal celebration competition.
Coca-Cola is looking to cash in on the upcoming 2010 FIFA World Cup by launching a viral video production featuring England star Wayne Rooney.
The company has posted a short internet film on YouTube and other websites in which Rooney is shown trying to recreate a goal celebration for a film director played by comedian James Corden.
It is part of a promotion for the World Cup, which kicks off in South Africa on Friday, June 11th, in which the drinks brand is running a competition to find the best goal-scoring celebration, marketingmagazine.co.uk reports.
This will see videos of celebrations performed during the tournament uploaded onto Fifa.com where fans can then vote for their favourite.
The Wayne Rooney video has already garnered over 180,000 views on video streaming site YouTube as of Monday, June 7th.
Coca-Cola recently launched a hub for its Diet Coke brand on social networking site Facebook.
