British Airways turns to corporate video production to combat strike Company uses YouTube to condemn strikes and reassure passengers.
Airliner British Airways has launched a viral video production on YouTube in an effort to reassure customers over plans by staff to hold a strike.
The video, which appears on both BA's website and the company's YouTube channel, shows chief executive Willie Walsh criticising the proposed industrial action and quash customers' fears of travel chaos.
He says in the video: "You're going to see British Airways coming together in the interests of our customers to make sure that this great company continues to fly."
Union Unite has voted in favour of a series of strikes that could seriously disrupt travellers' holiday plans over the Easter period.
A three-day walkout is planned for March 20th, followed by a possible four-day strike starting on March 27th.
Prime minister Gordon Brown told the BBC recently that the strikes are "unjustified" and "deplorable".
"It is not in the company's interest, it is not in the workers' interest and it is certainly not in the national interest," he told BBC Radio 4's Woman's Hour.
