Audience reach 'makes online video productions popular' A leading YouTube executive has explained that the site's massive reach makes it an ideal video production marketing tool.
The number of advertisers placing corporate videos on YouTube has increased ten-fold over the past year, it has been revealed.
Highlighting the degree to which businesses are opting to make use of video production and distribution services in order to market a product or service, a leading Google executive has expressed his confidence that this trend will carry on going for some time yet.
Speaking to Bloomberg, Barry Salzman, managing director of media and platforms at the web search engine giant, said such popularity can be largely attributed to the fact that posting videos online gives businesses significantly better exposure than more traditional methods of marketing.
"What YouTube gives advertisers is massive reach and massive audience," he explained.
Furthermore, with the site continuing to hone its ability to match-up advertisers and web users, it is anticipated that it will become an even more effective advertising tool over the coming months, Mr Salzman added.
Meanwhile, highlighting the popularity of online videos, including viral efforts, Michael Jackson's Thriller has been named as the most ground-breaking video of all-time by users of the online social-networking site MySpace.
