Apple set to move to cloud-based media streaming Apple is reportedly set to embrace cloud computing in order to expand its media content offerings.
Apple is set to embrace cloud computing technology geared towards enabling its customers to stream media content while on the go, it has been reported.
Citing sources close to the heart of the technology giant, the website Boy Genius has revealed that the firm is looking to offer a cloud-based version of its popular iTunes application.
This would mean that users could stream content from the internet onto their Apple devices, the website has noted, with users to benefit from wireless technology in order to enjoy online media, potentially including video productions, regardless of where they are.
The site expanded: "Any apps you buy, for instance, on your iPhone will immediately sync to your computer.
"Changes to your calendar, or notes of contacts, will also automatically update on your computer as well."
This comes as both home-based computer users and businesses await the final details of the BBC's Project Canvas proposals, which could see a number of media providers working together to bring online video productions to TV sets across the UK.
