700 Billion YouTube Videos Watched in 2010

The year 2010 brought some interesting statistics for Google's video sharing service YouTube. The online giant says that 35 hours of video were put online every minute in the past year. While that is a staggering statistic take their latest revelation that over 700 billion videos were viewed in 2010 worldwide.

The question now is what is Google's goal for 2010? 1 trillion? More? Google this year will most likely be focusing on increasing it's presence in foreign markets that it doesn't dominate already.

2010 was a turbulent year for Google and its relations with China after many months of talks about services as well as the controversial censorship issue. However, it looks like 2011 has brought a new era of Google advertising it's Google.cn services in hopes to pick up market share against the local leader Baidu which holds 64% of the search market share in China.

China is one of the most connected countries in the world and if Google's advertising attempts are successful it is not unreasonable to think that it could double it's 2010 statistics which include online video.
