The most important factor in optimising a YouTube video production for search is choosing the right title tags, it has been claimed.
Search engine optimisation (SEO) expert SEOptimise has published a list of top ten tips for increasing YouTube videos visibility on search engines on their blog.
The top recommendation is to include keywords in the title tag of the video.
"It's generally accepted amongst SEOs that title tag keyword relevancy and positioning is one of the biggest on site search ranking factors that we can influence," it said.
Other tips on the list include building internal and external links and encouraging viewers to leave comments and ratings on the videos.
It argued that video SEO is becoming increasingly important thanks to the introduction of Google's focus on universal search – providing search results from a variety of media.
"Optimising your video for search is something that certainly shouldn’t be underestimated or ignored," said the blog.
