Video tagging 'critical' for SEO Technology expert predicts "massive surge in diverse media".
Corporate video productions should always be tagged so that they improve search engine optimisation (SEO), it has been claimed.
Paul Johns, vice president of global markets for Complinet, a supplier of risk-based compliance information and technology solutions, said it was "critical" this was the case due the vast amount of information on the web.
He also argued that video and other media is becoming more popular and so will lead to greater profitability in the future.
"Right now it's all about eyeballs, if you can get people to look at something you do long enough and you can build value-add around it and content around it then it becomes chargeable," Mr Johns said.
He added that Complinet planned to cut text-based content from 95 per cent of its output, where it currently stands, to around 80 per cent.
"I see a massive surge in diverse media," he commented.
This week news agencyThomson Reuters announced it was launching an online video service called Insider to provide financial information to their clients.
