Online video 'a top' internet marketing strategy Videos increase website clicks and convert visits into sales, says SEO.com.
Video marketing has been listed as one of the top ten online marketing strategies of 2009 by a US internet marketing company.
According to SEO.com, videos are becoming increasingly important marketing tool, helping to boost traffic and sales for online businesses.
"Videos help convert website visitors into sales. In the universal search results, people tend to click on links with videos more than those without - even if the video link is ranked lower," the company said.
Other important marketing tools highlighted by the firm included organic search engine optimisation, social media and keywords.
The most successful websites are "the ones that establish credibility, trust and directly target a demographic".
Earlier this week, research analysis from Nielsen revealed that the number of people watching video on the internet is increasing rapidly.
The study found that in the third quarter of 2009 the time the average American spent watching internet video rose by 34.9 per cent compared to the same period of 2008.
