Google issues SEO tips for news video productions There are a range of steps companies can take to help get there video productions on Google News.
Video productions can feature prominently on Google's News service, but companies should do all that they can to ensure their efforts feature prominently on search results.
To this end, the search engine giant has issued a range of tips on how to boost the search engine optimisation (SEO) of video productions on Google News.
Firstly, it recommends uploading videos as quickly as possible so that they reach the Google News sooner and are grouped with the most recent articles.
In addition, Google advises that a separate video should be uploaded for each news story, rather than having one long video covering a range of events.
This will make it easier to find for viewers as it allows for a specific title to be used.
Correctly categorising videos, adding detailed descriptions, and using keywords can all help boost SEO as well, says Google.
Finally, it is vital that video productions are embeddable on other sites, as this is a technical requirement for appearing on Google News.
Google recently announced plans to integrate its services with internet-connected TVs through a new venture called Google TV.
