Online recruitment companies should consider using corporate video productions to boost web traffic, it has been claimed.
Speaking to recruitment news provider onrec.com, Mike Taylor from Web-Based-Recruitment.com said that not only can video improve search engine optimisation but it is also a lot more cost effective than many people believe.
"From talking to Recruiters a lot of them can see the benefits that online video can bring in terms of free targeted job seeker traffic and high search engine rankings. However, until now there was a perception that producing online videos was both complicated and expensive," he told the news provider.
He added that the popularity of online video is still growing at a "phenomenal rate" and pointed out that YouTube recently announced it had broken the two billion barrier in terms of number of videos streamed in a single day.
Advertisers are also beginning to see the benefits of online video. Adweek.com recently reported that an eMarketer study found online video advertising spending is set to grow by more than 48 per cent in 2010.
