Coherent content strategy needed for SEO Expert advises on how website content can boost SEO.
Marketers should incorporate video productions and other media into a coherent content strategy to aid search engine optimisation (SEO), it has been claimed.
Writing on the blog of marketing community website econsultancy.com, e-marketing expert James Gurd said that this needed to be done to ensure customers can easily find the information they are looking for.
"Start from the top by planning page content to cater for the most savvy web customer, those who are time conscious and just want to find something, take action and leave," he advised.
"Architect your site content to deliver them an intuitive customer journey, then ask yourself what additional content would help visitors who have more questions and want greater product/service detail."
However, Mr Gurd warned that any content on a site must be written to engage the customer, not just to serve an SEO strategy.
Another area of SEO which can be helped by video productions is that of link building, with the number of sites linking to a page one of the factors used by search engines to rank them.
Research by keyword software provider WordStream recently found that link building is the aspect of SEO most frequently cited as the most difficult by marketers.
