iPad a 'game changer' says Rupert Murdoch Newspaper tycoon says industry must "develop our methods of presentation of news".
Video productions and other media available on the Apple iPad could make it a "game changer" for newspapers and other businesses, Rupert Murdoch has said.
The businessman, whose News Corp company owns a number of media organisations, including the Times, believes the device will become increasingly common across the globe.
Speaking at a conference with Wall Street analysts, he said: "I think we're going to see, around the world, hundreds and hundreds of millions of these devices.
"There will be all sorts of things we can do with them. As they develop technologically, we've got to develop our methods of presentation of news."
The Australian-born entrepreneur was speaking shortly after News Corp reported a $2.5 billion full-year profit, up from a $3.4 billion loss last year.
News Corp recently became the first major newspaper publisher to implement a subscription fee for the websites of its title's, having done so for the Times and Sunday Times.
