YouTube viewing figures highlight corporate video potential The average member of YouTube watched over 93 videos in January.
Video production companies are likely to take note of new figures which reveal the average YouTube user viewed over 93 videos in January.
This is according to the comScore Video Metrix service, with the total representing a 50 per cent increase on the figure recorded during the same month last year.
With the popularity of YouTube at an all-time high - 173 million people in the US watched an upload on the site in January - production companies may be tempted to increase their corporate video operations as a way of reaching potential customers.
Some 12.7 billion YouTube videos were watched by US viewers in January, meaning the average viewer saw 93.4 productions.
The duration of the average online video stood at 4.1 minutes, with the majority of YouTube uploads limited to ten minutes.
It was also revealed by comScore that the average Hulu user watched 23.5 hours of content in January.
YouTube was established in February 2005 and was purchased by Google in November 2006.
