YouTube to show free feature-length video productions Over 400 movies to be made available for free streaming.
Google site YouTube is launching a feature-length video production service where users can watch full movies.
The site, which already operates a similar service for US users, will make 400 full-length movies available for UK visitors to view for free.
It follows the striking of deals with a number of US studios, including Sony Pictures, as well as UK online streaming service Blinkbox.
"This is one of many efforts to ensure that people can find all the different kinds of video they want to see, from bedroom vlogs and citizen journalism reports to full-length films and TV shows," said the YouTube head of video partnerships, Donagh O'Malley.
"We hope film lovers enjoy the range of titles in this free library, whether catching up on a mainstream hit or delving into the vast archive of classic films from decades past."
YouTube already offers a number of premium television programmes for free streaming following agreements with TV networks Five and Channel 4.
