YouTube launches new video production tool New application aims to make video editing simpler.
Video streaming site YouTube has launched a new tool that it claims will make editing video productions easy.
The YouTube Video Editor application allows users carry out a number of editing tasks in a format designed to be simple even for the non-technologically savvy.
Available on the YouTube's beta site TestTube, the new tool is cloud-based – meaning it can be accessed online from anywhere with an internet connection and requires no software installation.
Functions that can be carried out using the video editor include combining multiple videos to create a new longer clip, trimming the beginning and/or end of the video and adding a soundtrack.
"Say you've uploaded a wedding ceremony - beautiful event, but do you really need to see all the guests shuffle in?" YouTube commented via its official blog.
"The video editor lets you easily remove unwanted footage so you can capture just the moment when they say 'I do'."
